Kananaskis Range

Kananaskis Range (82J)

This range was formerly known as ñShipsÍ Rangeî because most of the mountains were named after warships which were engaged in the Battle of Jutland. The range takes its name from the Kananaskis River which flows to the east of most of it.

The range extends from Spray Lakes Reservoir, southeast to the southern tip of Lower Kananaskis Lakes. Smuts Creek and Smith-Dorrien Creek lie to the west and the Kananaskis River lies to the east.
