George Grant

In 1872 George Grant, a Presbyterian Minister, served as secretary on an expedition with Sandford Fleming that was looking for a possible route for a trans-Canada railway. During their trip, Grant and Fleming met with the surveyor Moberly who had previously explored in the area of Howse Pass looking for a route for the CPR. He was ordered by Fleming to study the Yellowhead Pass route. George Grant later wrote the book, "Ocean to Ocean" which documented the 1872 trip. [Additional Information: Grant, Rev. George.
