Named for: Presumably a cornice of snow was on the summit of this mountain when the name was chosen.

This mountain is the second (from the northwest) of the group of four peaks which makes up Cloister Mountains. They are said to resemble, "four fine cathedrals with splendid walls and buttresses on the south-west."
