Quinn Range

Quinn Range (82G)

The Quinn Range lies between Quinn Creek and Bull River approximately 25 km west of the Elk River Valley. John Quinn took possession of his farm in the area in 1904 or 1905.

The BC GovernmentÍs records are somewhat confusing regarding the history of the name. Mount Herchmer lies to the east of the Bull River and the Quinn Range lies to the west of the river. However, it appears that the Quinn Range was formerly known as the Herchemer Mountains. Mr. Herchemer was a Fernie lawyer who must have enjoyed the outdoors as he was president of the local Game Protective Association in 1904.
