Named for: Hornecker, Tom (Tom Hornecker was a highly respected citizen of Nanton who owned a pasture and cabin in the Highway #22 valley.)

This flat-topped peak is prominent when viewed from the northeast but disappears from view from other angles. Tom Hornecker hiked and climbed in the Livingstone Range and other areas of the Canadian Rockies for many years, reaching all of the summits in this area including this one which was one of his favourites.
