The low ridge to the left of Mount Robson and the Robson River (as seen from the Yellowhead Highway) is Cinnamon Peak. In 1911 Arthur Wheeler climbed the mountain to study the route taken by George Kinney and Curly Phillips when they climbed to Robson's summit ridge two years previously. Wheeler referred to the mountain as Little Grizzly "on account of its resemblance, on a smaller scale, to Mount Grizzly in the Selkirks." Later the name was changed to Cinnamon, a colour variation of the bear.
