Popular Hike: Tonquin Valley

In 1927 F.H. Slark and F. Rutis met with a fatal accident while descending the mountain following the first ascent, their summit record being found on the top the following summer. Their bodies were never found. Note that there is a Redoubt Peak in the Tonquin Valley in Jasper National Park and a Redoubt Mountain in the Slate Range of Banff National Park.
