Named for: Thompson thought the peak resembled a church's pulpit.

Pulpit Peak seems to loom over Hector Lake. At the summit of this mountain there is said to be a group of strange rock pillars that look like sculptured figures. They appear to be a company of priests that have been turned to stone while addressing an audience below. (M.B. Williams)
