Named for: Parrish, Sherman (Sherman Parrish was an early businessman in the Crowsnest Pass area.)

Sherman Parrish was the first settler in the Crowsnest Pass area. In 1898 he homesteaded at the foot of the mountain which now bears his name and began raising cattle. A big man with very large hands, Sherman Parrish was also a keen student, an artist, and an inventor. One of his hobbies was making model steam engines which really worked.
